# Quickstart

The shortest path to something you can send to someone. About ten minutes, most of which is the
render.

## 1. Create an account

Sign up at [app.decodx.ai](https://app.decodx.ai). You land on **Home**: a box to describe your
video and a short getting-started checklist (make your first video, connect your AI assistant, add
your logo and colors, share it with a link).

## 2. Start a project

Describe the video in the box on Home, or choose **+ New video** in the sidebar. Either way, choose
how your material gets in:

- **Record** — capture a browser tab with the Decodx extension.
- **Upload** — bring an existing screen recording or video file.
- **Prompt** — describe the video and let Decodx draft the scenes.
- **Import a deck** — turn slides into scenes.

All four produce the same thing: a project with scenes in it. See
[Ways in](/docs/make-a-video/ways-in) for when to use which.

## 3. Review the scenes

Decodx splits the recording into scenes and drafts narration for each. Read it before rendering —
this is the cheapest moment to fix anything. You can edit the script, swap the voice and trim a
scene without touching a timeline.

## 4. Render

Renders are jobs, not requests. Decodx shows an estimated duration and cost first; you approve it
and the job runs in the background. You can leave the page.

## 5. Share

When the job finishes you get a share link, a written guide and the download. Send the link,
[embed it](/docs/share-and-measure/embed-and-export), or publish it onward.

The same path, with the decisions explained as you go.
