# Brand and render

The last two steps before you have something to send: make it look like yours, then render it.

## Brand Kit

Workspace-level settings that every project inherits. Open **Brand** in the sidebar:

- **Logo and watermark** — including where it sits in the frame.
- **Background music** — chosen from the catalogue, ducked under narration.
- **Brand guardrails** — the defaults new projects start from, so nobody has to remember them.

Set these once per workspace rather than per project.

## Validate before you render

Decodx checks a project before it will render it — missing narration, a scene with no source, a
setting that conflicts. Fixing a validation error costs nothing; a failed render costs a job.

## The estimate

Every render is priced before it runs. The estimate shows expected duration and cost, broken down
by what actually costs money — narration generation, avatar clips, transcoding.

**Cached work is not re-charged.** On a re-render, the estimate usually collapses to almost nothing
because most scenes are reused. If an estimate comes back high on a re-render, something invalidated
more of the cache than you expected — see [How it works](/docs/how-it-works).

## Running the job

Approve the estimate and the job runs in the background. You can close the tab.

While it runs you can watch progress and events per stage, and cancel it. A cancelled job doesn't
charge for work not yet done.

## When it finishes

You get the video, its captions and chapters, a poster frame, and a
[written guide](/docs/documents). Next: [share it](/docs/share-and-measure/share-links).
