Compose and edit
Editing in Decodx happens at the scene level, not on a timeline. You reorder, re-cut and rewrite scenes; the video re-assembles itself.
Light and advanced compose
Two views over the same project:
- Light — the scene list, the script, and the essentials. Where most editing happens.
- Advanced — per-scene control over sources, timing and effects.
Switch freely; they are views, not modes, and neither loses work.
Working with scenes
Add, reorder, duplicate and remove scenes. Because scenes are independent, reordering never invalidates a render — the scenes you didn't touch are reused.
Trim, crop and aspect ratio
Trim a scene's in and out points, crop the frame, and set the project's aspect ratio for the destination — landscape for a docs page, square or vertical for social.
Effects
Applied per scene:
| Effect | Use it for |
|---|---|
| Zoom | Drawing the eye to the part of the screen that matters |
| Callout | Labelling a control or a result |
| Spotlight | Dimming everything except one region |
| Blur | Hiding names, emails, account numbers, anything that shouldn't ship |
Blur is the one to be deliberate about: check every scene before publishing, not just the ones you remember.
Captions and chapters
Captions are generated from the narration script, so they always match what's said. Chapters are derived from your scenes — another reason scene boundaries are worth getting right.
Templates
Save a project's structure, voice and brand settings as a template and apply it to the next video. This is how a series stays consistent without anyone remembering the settings.
Comments and review
Leave comments on a project, mark review status, and see the activity trail. Folders keep a growing library navigable.
